• Omega Psi Phi Healthy Brain Aging Event

    This past Wednesday, the Omega Psi Phi fraternity here in Lexington hosted their annual health event at the Black & Williams Neighborhood Center! University of Kentucky neuropsychologist, Dr. Willie McBride, gave a presentation on the differences between brain health and mental health. Free health screens were offered by UK Department of Neurology, as well as informational resources from UK Neurology and Sanders-Brown Center on Aging. Catering was provided by DV8 Kitchen.     Person-Environment Fit Study The Person-Environment Fit Study is an NIH-funded research study designed to better understand the factors underlying the behavioral challenges of dementia. Utilizing research backed by neuroscience and occupational therapy, this study will serve to enhance the development of more holistic and evidence-based interventions for dementia. If you are caring for and living with someone who has dementia and challenging behaviors, you may be able to participate.
